This week inside the SKILD Coaches Community, coaches shared their thoughts on building sustainable coaching businesses, attracting clients, and the role technology can play in supporting growth. Discussions covered coaching marketplaces, word-of-mouth referrals, game analysis tools, and business software, while SKILD continued progressing through its final stages of testing ahead of launch.

Key Highlights This Week

 🧠 What We’re Learning

A good discussion kicked off around coaching marketplaces and whether coaches want to be publicly listed alongside competitors.

Darcy shared that while established coaches may be cautious about clients "shopping around", coaches are ultimately chosen on trust, communication, personality and results. Jacko added that word-of-mouth has been his biggest driver of growth, but having business tools, support and visibility through a platform would have been valuable when starting out.

There was also discussion around game analysis tools, with Tim exploring options for junior rugby league players and coaches sharing experiences with video analysis software.

📍 What’s Going On

Andrew confirmed that SKILD is in its final stages of testing, with launch updates expected soon.

Coaches also discussed iSports Video Analyser following the newly announced collaboration. Andrew shared that he uses the platform regularly for team sports analysis and that discount access is available for coaches interested in learning more.

🏆 Wins and Shoutouts

A shoutout to Darcy for jumping into his first community discussion and sharing detailed insights from both a golf coaching and business perspective.

📅 What’s Next

We're getting closer to the SKILD launch, with final testing continuing behind the scenes.

More updates will be shared as soon as the final pieces are signed off.

Catch you next week,

Andrew Raines
Founder & CEO, SKILD

Final Thoughts

This week's conversations highlighted that coaches value flexibility, whether that's how they attract clients, run their businesses, or deliver services. That's something we've kept front of mind as we move closer to launching SKILD.
