This week inside the SKILD Coaches Community, conversations focused on creating better coaching experiences both on and off the field — from how coaches structure payments and pricing, to the tools and resources that help athletes develop across different sports. We also welcomed new coaches into the community, shared upcoming updates around the SKILD platform, and continued discussions around growing coaching businesses and content opportunities nationwide.

Key Highlights This Week

 🧠 What We’re Learning

A few coaches discussed how payment fees and surcharges should work inside coaching software.

AJ, Glen and Jacko all leaned toward keeping transactions smooth for athletes and parents by building fees into pricing rather than adding them on top at checkout. Coaches also liked the idea of having flexibility depending on session type or clinic size.

There was also some good discussion around training aids across different sports, with Charles sharing a few golf tools he regularly uses including grip trainers, putting mirrors and strike wedges.

📍 What’s Going On

Andrew welcomed new coaches into the community and shared that SKILD software updates and coach events are on the way soon.

There was also a heads up around the Salt Dreamtime at the G footy package kicking off May 22 for any coaches or sports fans interested.

Andrew also offered to connect coaches with videographers around Australia for content, branding and social media support.

👋 New Faces

A few new coaches joined the group this week following recent chats with Andrew around private coaching and growing their businesses.

🏆 Wins and Shoutouts

Toby shared Pinpoint Kicking as an example of AFL training equipment and opened up discussion around whether footy coaching is still untapped when it comes to training aids and coaching tools.

📅 What’s Next

SKILD launch is getting closer. Andrew mentioned more updates and surveys will be rolling out over the coming weeks as testing continues behind the scenes.

Final Thoughts

This week’s conversations highlighted how much coaching continues to evolve beyond just delivering sessions.

From creating smoother experiences for athletes and parents, to exploring better training tools, branding, and business systems, coaches across the community are continuing to think bigger about the impact they can make.

As more coaches join SKILD and the platform moves closer to launch, these discussions are helping shape a community built not only around performance, but around sustainable and modern coaching experiences.
